My father started Gordon Water Systems in 1973. I was in 8th grade. At that time we had 3 people. Gordon, proprietor and salesperson, a part-time administration person and an Installation person.
Today Gordon Water systems has 55 employees in 4 locations. We were recognized as Small Business of the Year in both our major markets; Grand Rapids in 2019 and Kalamazoo in 2023. We also Celebrated our 50th year in business last year. We average 4.9 stars between both markets with over 1000 reviews.
I have always been interested in technology as a tool and specifically, software. We could not find great, affordable software purpose-built for our industry. There were some things out there, but they were highly proprietary, clunky or lacked the tuning for our industry. We built our own.

Finally, we include on-going reminders to the customers for filter-changes, salt fills, check-ups and anniversary celebration offers.
